Queensland is “reiterating” its offer to host the 2032 Olympic Games in Brisbane, the Prime Minister has announced.
Annastacia Palaszczuk said she had a “positive discussion” today with the President of the Australian Olympic Committee, John Coates.
“It is time for everyone to reaffirm their commitment to these games,” said Coates.
Ms. Palaszczuk said the Olympic Task Force will meet again in the New Year and she hoped to catch Prime Minister Scott Morrison for “five minutes” at this week’s National Cabinet meeting.
Mr. Coates recently traveled to Japan to discuss how the postponed 2020 Olympics in Japan will take place next year.
“The games continue and all arrangements are at the right pace for the games to continue,” he said.
“When we have a vaccine that makes life easier, but whatever happens, the athletes will be approved.”
