Derrick Van Orden and Bill Feehan are named in a lawsuit filed by former Donald Trump attorney Sidney Powell seeking to overturn the Wisconsin general election.
It was apparently news for Van Orden, the Wisconsin 3rd District Republican Congressional candidate, who lost a close race to incumbent Ron Kind.
Van Orden wrote on Twitter on Tuesday: “I learned on social media today that my name was included in a lawsuit without my permission. To be clear, I am not involved in the lawsuit aimed at overturning the Wisconsin elections. “
No social media posts on this topic from Feehan, leader of the La Crosse County Republican Party. Feehan’s last tweet on November 16 was a clip of Powell speaking to Lou Dobbs on Fox News. The same video will also be posted on the La Crosse County’s Republican Party Facebook page at around the same time.
Powell, recently fired from his Trump attorney, filed the lawsuit in federal court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin Tuesday. Fraud is alleged during the November 3rd general election.
The lawsuit states: “Mr. Van Orden “lost” about 10,000 votes to the Democratic incumbent, US Representative Ron Kind. Because of the illegal voting irregularities, as shown below, Mr Van Orden is seeking a new election, which will be ordered by this court in the third district. “
The lawsuit was filed by Powell for both Van Orden and Feehan.
Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers confirmed the election results Tuesday in favor of Biden.
It had been a little over a week since Trump’s attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis distanced themselves from Powell.
“Sidney Powell is a self-employed attorney,” said Trump attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis. “She is not a member of the Trump Legal Team. Nor is she an advocate for the President in his personal capacity. “
A week earlier, Trump praised the three on Twitter.
I look forward to Mayor Giuliani leading the legal effort to defend OUR RIGHT to FREE and FAIR ELECTIONS! Rudy Giuliani, Joseph diGenova, Victoria Toensing, Sidney Powell and Jenna Ellis, a really great team, have joined our other wonderful lawyers and agents!
