Steptoe & Johnson PLLC adds 6 associate attorneys |

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WV News) – Six attorneys have joined Steptoe & Johnson PLLC as associates. Three practice in the firm’s labor department and the others in the litigation department.

The new attorneys are Marcus D. Black, Lindsay M. Burley, Quentin T. Collie, Christopher S. Etheredge, Dylan T. Hughes, and Joshua B. Winters.

Black, who worked for Steptoe & Johnson last summer, practices labor and labor law in their Charleston office. Black interned in the Attorney General’s Office for Putnam County, West Virginia and the Mayor’s office of Buckhannon. He received his law degree from West Virginia University College of Law, where he was a WEB DuBois Fellow. He received his bachelor’s degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College.

Burley practices labor and labor law in the firm’s Huntington’s disease office. Her experience with Steptoe & Johnson began as a summer assistant in 2018 and 2019. She earned her law degree from the University of Cincinnati, where she served on and participated in the Fundraiser Committee of the University of Cincinnati’s College of Law Women’s Club for domestic violence and temporary protection. She received her bachelor’s degree from Marshall University.

Collie, a litigator based in the Bridgeport office, graduated from the top 5 in his law class at West Virginia University. He previously worked as a summer assistant at Steptoe & Johnson and was a law assistant at WVU Student Legal Services. Collie is a retired educator who taught art in English at middle schools in Ohio and West Virginia. He received his masters from Wake Forest University and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Etheredge has energy disputes in its Charleston office. Prior to his legal career, Etheredge was a combat physician for the US Army. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, he carried out life-saving measures against wounded soldiers, civilians and enemy combatants. He also interned with law firms in Virginia and Alabama and with the United Services Automobile Association. Etheredge earned a law degree from Washington and Lee University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of the Incarnate Word.

Hughes is a labor law attorney in the firm’s Bridgeport office. He earned his law degree and bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University, where he also served as a teaching assistant at the College of Law. Hughes is a past intern with BrickStreet Mutual Insurance Company and the Kanawha County Commission.

Winters practices in the Legal Department of the Morgantown office. He received his law degree from Duquesne University and his bachelor’s degree from Washington & Jefferson College. He was an associate at Steptoe & Johnson last summer and was also an underwriter at Liberty Mutual Insurance.
