In January 2017, Regeneron received a subpoena from the Massachusetts District Attorney’s Office for violating federal anti-kickback laws relating to the use of patient aid funds to encourage physicians to sell certain Regeneron drugs over cheaper competitors prescribe.

In September 2019, Regeneron received a civil investigation request from the U.S. Department of Justice under the Federal False Claims Act investigating separate violations of federal setbacks.

On June 24, 2020, Massachusetts prosecutors filed suit against Regeneron, alleging violations of federal kickback laws.
