Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt announced that his office and a coalition of attorneys general from 47 states, the District of Columbia, and five US territories have reached a US $ 573 million settlement with one of the world’s largest consulting firms, McKinsey & Company Dollars.
A press release said the comparison dislodges research into the company’s role in working for opioid companies and in helping those companies advertise their drugs so they can benefit from the opioid epidemic.
Missouri will receive approximately $ 11.6 million from the settlement. The billing is specifically used for opioid reduction and treatment after the costs have been paid. This is the first opioid regime in multiple states that will result in significant payments to fight the epidemic directly.
