Michigan man information criticism towards Trump lawyer Sidney Powell over ‘frivolous’ Kraken lawsuit

BAY CITY, MI – A Bay County man has filed a lawsuit with the State Bar of Texas against Sidney Powell, an attorney and ally of President Donald Trump.

Adam C. Reddick filed his complaint in the Lone Star State on December 2 against Powell, who filed several so-called “Kraken” lawsuits nationwide to prevent President-elect Joe Biden from becoming president.

“When you file a lawsuit, you should have some credit,” Reddick said. “It doesn’t have to be a slam dunk, but at least it has to be based on some evidence, on facts that are controversial, and not on debunked conspiracy theories, lies and speculation. That part offended me for doing something like that. “

Biden defeated Trump with 154,188 votes and won Michigan’s 16 electoral votes.

Powell filed her lawsuit in the Eastern District of Michigan on Nov. 25, naming Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, the Michigan Board of State Canvassers, the City of Detroit, the Democratic National Committee, the Michigan Democratic Party, and Wayne County voter Robert Davis .

The US District Judge Linda V. Parker dismissed the lawsuit on December 7th on 36 pages, writing in part: “The plaintiffs most likely to claim that voting machines and software changed the votes for President Trump against Vice President Biden are an association of Theories, conjectures and speculations. “

Powell’s federal lawsuits in Wisconsin, Arizona and Georgia to decertify their election results were also dismissed.

“I felt that her behavior was so outrageous that it had to be reported,” Reddick said of why he filed the complaint against Powell. “I had read several news articles that said that because of her political nature, she was unlikely to be subject to discipline. That seemed wrong to me because she’s been filing frivolous lawsuits essentially everywhere. “

Reddick, who served as an attorney until his bar license was suspended by the Michigan State Bar Committee in October 2019, said his own disciplinary experience was also used in his decision to file a complaint. He has had personal problems that have carried over into his professional career and has resulted in his neglect of some of his obligations.

The Michigan State Bar on October 25, 2019 suspended Reddick’s license for 30 days, stating that he had handled a case without adequate preparation and neglected the matter entrusted to him. The board of directors suspended Reddick’s license for another 60 days because it “failed to meet the terms of an earlier order in time”.

In March, the board continued to suspend Reddick’s license, finding that he had appeared at a hearing “but was in default for failing to respond to the formal complaint”. On this basis, the hearing body found that in some cases he “had committed professional misconduct while representing a customer”.

Reddick said he hoped his statutory license would be reintroduced in January.

“What I did was negligent; What she does is on purpose, ”said Reddick. “For me that is even more reprehensible.”

He said that in Michigan attorneys who are aware of the wrongdoing of other attorneys have an obligation to report it.

“Ms. Powell has filed a frivolous lawsuit … aimed at banning Michigan voters, including myself, from the right to vote,” Reddick wrote in his complaint. “She presented conspiracy theories and lies in support of her lawsuit. Your lawsuit is too full of mistakes. She appeared in national media and made false statements about her lawsuit. “

In the complaint, Reddick further alleges that Powell violated the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct.

Reddick said he only filed the complaint on his own behalf as a Michigan resident.

“Anyone can submit,” he said. “There’s always the question of standing, but in the end I said I confessed because she filed a lawsuit to reverse the election results in the federal district where I live.”

Reddick added that before Trump he was “fairly on the Republican side” and “totally despises what Trump has done to the Republican Party”. He said he voted for Biden in the 2020 election.

Reddick, who has been a trainee attorney at Triton Legal PLC at 3906 N. Euclid Ave. since his license was suspended. who operates in Bangor Township received a letter from the State Bar of Texas on Wednesday, December 23, stating that he had received his complaint. It said in the bar that Powell will receive the complaint from Reddick and will have 30 days to respond.

After Powell responds, the Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel will investigate the complaint to determine if there is reason to believe that she has committed professional misconduct or has a disability.

“If they decide she has committed wrongdoing, an attorney can see anything from reprimanding to final punishment for being banned,” Reddick said.

Powell’s team had previously argued that the court must act to prevent Biden from winning the election of the electoral college, which he did on December 14th.

“The questions raised are weighty as they question who the legitimate winner of the 2020 presidential election is,” Powell’s team wrote in a file, according to The Detroit Free Press. “These exceptional circumstances justify the exercise of the Court’s discretion.”

In a similar context, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced on Tuesday, December 22, that she was considering seeking sanctions against attorneys who filed lawsuits against the state’s election results. She also said she plans to file court costs and fees and file complaints with the Lawyers’ Committee.

The city of Detroit also recently said it plans to file a motion asking a federal judge to sanction Powell and other lawyers involved in filing the Kraken lawsuit, according to Forbes.
