Legal professional Nkoemakae Mola who allegedly defrauded potential home consumers will get bail

Pretoria – Nkoemakae Mola, 42, of Mola Attorneys, was released by the Pretoria North Magistrate Court on 15 cases of fraud and 15 cases of theft on bail of R10,000 on bail.

As of 2019, Mola has allegedly defrauded potential homebuyers of over R2 million by posing as a lawyer handling the sale of a property.

He would allegedly ask each potential buyer to deposit a certain amount into a Mola attorney’s bank account for the property.

When the money was posted to the Mola lawyers’ account, he allegedly transferred the money to his private account.

After several cases were opened, Mola was arrested at his home in Burgersfort on July 6, 2021.

The prosecutor resisted his bail on the grounds that Mola was an escape risk and that he was aware of the applicants, which could lead to a kind of intimidation.

He further stated that Mola is likely to commit similar crimes while he is out on bail.

However, the court granted him bail on condition that Mola give the investigator his passport.

He is also not allowed to travel abroad and should not have direct or indirect contact with complainants and witnesses in connection with the matter.

The matter has been postponed until October 27, 2021 for further investigation.
