Greater Noida: A 50-year-old lawyer died after allegedly shot and killed by two bicycle-carried attackers in Greater Noida on Thursday. He was on his way to see Dadri Tehsil to meet a client when the crime took place.
According to police, the lawyer was identified as Fateh Mohammad Khan, a resident of Greater Noida. “Khan had property disputes with several people and this could be the motive for the crime,” said one police officer.
Sujeet Upadhyaya, SHO of the Beta 2 Sector Police Station, said Khan planned to meet a customer in Dadri tehsil around 10 a.m. on Thursday. The Tehsil is barely 100 meters from Khan’s house.
“As soon as Khan stepped out of his house in the direction of Tehsil, two armed men followed him on a motorcycle. They opened fire on him just 40 meters from his house and fled after shooting him, ”said SHO.
Khan received three bullets, one in the head and two in the chest, and was seriously injured. Locals and family members took him to a private hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
Based on the complaint filed by Khan’s son, the police registered an FIR against the two as yet unidentified individuals under Section 302 (Murder) of the IPC.
