Paul Champ, an attorney for the BC Civil Liberties Association, says it was “shocking” to learn that the 2013 RCMP used plainclothes officers to oversee an anti-pipeline workshop at the United Church. The RCMP’s civilian watchdog reported that police activities were “reasonable”.
