KARACHI: The man who posted a fake video of Bakhtawar Bhutto’s engagement on social media apologized and removed the post.

According to a report by Daily Jang, Anees Jillani, who, according to his Twitter bio, is an Islamabad lawyer, responded to the Bakhtawar tweet rejecting the video and regretted his actions.

“I’m sorry. I deleted the reference to your engagement. [The] The purpose was not to slander you or your family. Please enjoy the commitment and best wishes for your future, “tweeted Jillani.

Previously, Bakhtawar had reacted strongly to the fake video in which many people were dancing at an event without wearing masks or social distancing.

“If reading is not your specialty (the leaked cards clearly ranked 27th place), the basic vision you can see is that Bakhtawar is not in any of these videos, nor are their very identifiable family members,” wrote the PPP Employee on Twitter.

“These are obviously not my videos, nor do they have anything to do with me,” she added.

Bakhtawar becomes engaged today to Mahmood Chaudhary, son of UAE-based businessman Younas Chaudhary. The ceremony will take place at Bilawal House in Karachi.

According to sources, Asif Ali Zardari will only be attending the engagement ceremony for a short time due to his health condition, while PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will not attend the ceremony after testing positive for COVID-19.
